My name is Shannon Parr, I first established Silver Linings CBT in July 2015.

Silver Linings CBT is a private counselling practice specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). 

In 2011 I graduated from Queens University Belfast with a BSc in Psychology. After graduating it was clear I gained a special interest in the human mind and behaviour. Therefore I choose to specialise in CBTand attended the prestiguous Belfast Cognitive Therapy Centre. In 2014 I gradutated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am now a registered member of British Counselling and Psychotherapy.

 

As a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, I formulate and implement individualised treatment plans for clients who are experiencing moderate to high levels of psychological distress and avoidance. As a result clients feel better both emotionally and physically enabling them to embrace life once again.

What to expect at Silver Linings CBT

 

Making the decision to enter into therapy takes a lot of courage. So its understandable for you to feel nervous but please don't let this put you off making that step in the right direction.

At Silver Linings CBT I aim to provide a caring, confidential and non- judgemental environment.

Our first session is mainly an assessment, we will discuss your current difficulties and any symptoms you are experiencing.

We will then set goals for us to work towards for you to achieve to help you begin to feel like 'you' again.

In order to achieve your goals I find it very beneficial to set a small amount of homework. This is to continue to practice and apply the skills learnt within our sessions to speed up recovery and help you be your own therapist.

At the start of therapy I recommend that we will meet on a weekly basis and as you progress and achieve your goals we can begin spacing the sessions out when you feel ready to do so.
